The immense relief at being allowed to go somewhere different is tangible. Attractions, zoos and outdoor places to visit are open again and this means I spent hours searching for tickets to … somewhere … anywhere.
Of course, everyone has had the same idea and places were selling out fast. Initially I had wanted to visit a safari park or zoo or farm or anything at all relating to animals but places were either still closed, fully booked or limiting who can visit. I was absolutely determined, however, to find somewhere to spend a day that wasn’t home.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my home but I needed fresh air, new scenery and something to feel good about again.
Eventually I found tickets still available for Knebworth House gardens and dinosaur trail and snapped up a family ticket for £25 so that my “support bubble”, son and I could get a taste of freedom once again.
